Timeline of My Medium Journey:
- I read a lot of Towards Data Science articles on Medium since 2019; I have been a reader, not a writer
- I started self-publishing my first article in August 2023. I took a hiatus from writing on Medium
- I started publishing my 2nd article on 27 December 2023
- I just got accepted into the Medium Partner Program on 1 January 2024, which means I just monetized my Medium 7 days ago

As a writer, I only got paid based on the reading time (minimum 30 seconds) and engagement of my readers on my paywalled article.
I was surprised by how fast I got my first 100 USD with Medium.
